We stayed on the car park side due to maintenance during our visit, which was fine, but we wished we could have stayed on the creek side for a better view. The hotel is situated right on the pier, making it a great location with restaurants and bars all around. If you want to explore elsewhere, you'll need a car. We didn’t have a chance to use the pool, but we wish we had. The hotel room was very comfortable and spacious, with a great balcony, and it had a relaxed, quiet atmosphere.

Best location of any hotel to stay in Charleston. Close enough to all the attractions, but beautifully settled on the Martian Harbor. A little bit of nature, and a little bit of city. I love how they had so many attractions right there from water taxis to kayaking and restaurants and walking distance. The view from the end was beautiful. It had a lovely pool on the deck on the harbor. You really can’t get better than this!

We loved the view from the balcony. We had a refrigerator and microwave in our room. We had access to stores and restaurants. The staff was great. I am handicapped, they made our accommodations comfortable for me to be mobile and enjoy our stay completely. The food and drinks at the bar was awesome. We look forward to our next stay. Thank you all at the Shem Creek Inn for making our stay great and memorable.

Great location, easy parking and nice size room with view of the creek. Marsh room view would include view of parking lot, and shade all day. We enjoyed sunny veranda and view of the pool. Quiet and less busy this time of the year, but music by the pool most of the day/evening. Could walk to restaurants, including The Wreck (featured in Outer banks series). Great walkway by the marsh and creek.

The breakfast was only marginally acceptable. That the place that needs the greatest attention. Grab n go is nice if you’re heading out for the day and don’t need much, but if you’re on a more leisurely vacation, it’s nice to have a bit better food on board. We ended up going out every morning.
